they should have a much better seed than last year though i still think they’re cinderella fodder bc they probably have the worst inside game out of any top 5 seed by a mile
tech playing like cheeks in noncon so annoying bc you just know they’re magically gonna have their best game of the season against us at home again in a few weeks lol
Arkansas is streaky. I mean they are playing queens college, but they gave up 3 drives to the basket in a row and the. Turned around and got 5 threes in a row.
They are a calipari team. Crazy talent but just doesn’t feel like a team.
Super aggressive on the passing lanes. Any lazy pass is being stolen and dunked.
Tech cant even play defense againdg my sister’s alma mater, mighty UNCo.
Greeley is the 2nd worst smelling place in the US, right behind Liberal KS.
Tech hanging on to a 2 pt lead, under five minutes left
Tech wins, but gives up 90 at home to Northen Colorado
Here are Northern Colorados results coming into tonight
That’s crazy. Colorado College is a tiny D3 lib arts college. Colorado Christian and Regis? NAIA? D2?
Regis is D2.
St Thomas MN was D3 in 2020 - didn’t realize they were D1 now
Nice wrestling school tho!
Thread hijack in 3, 2, 1… jkjk ![]()
St Thomas was forced to move up to NCAA D1 after their D3 conference kicked them out for being too dominant.
A few years back, my alma mater got matched up with the Tommies in football quarterfinals. It ended 47-7. Was surprisingly close!
Well, they had to move out, but the choice to go to D1 was theirs, and it required a waiver. Schools will typically move up one level and get established, then make another move to D1.
It’s interesting, because the school really isn’t that big. For example, UT-Dallas has over 20,000 undergrads and was playing D3 up until this year, when they moved to D2. And UT Tyler is also bigger than St Thomas MN, and they moved up from D3 to D2 in the last 5-6 years. But football is the big driver, and neither of those have football programs.
Also, they weren’t dominant enough to ever win a national championship in D3, but no other school has been “kicked out” of their conference for too much winning, as far as I know. SOFT.
St Thomas has spent over $300m on athletic facilities since 2010. Their old D3 conference has 9 member institutions with smaller endowments than that amount.
D1 is the right place for them. The fact that the Tommies have been fairly successful right away is proof of that.
what is it with creighton that makes them turn it on the minute big east play starts lol
I watched some of the Vanderbilt vs Memphis game Wednesday night. Memphis lost on their home court in OT, 77-70. I did not realize Memphis is 4-6. How long does Hardaway have at Memphis? It seems like his expiration date at Memphis has passed.
Hopefully, another decade…
Thing with Penny that I didn’t realize until I saw a graphic while watching one of their games earlier this season is that he’s won 70% of his games coached at Memphis at .699. Now it’s not the greatest but it’s certainly not something you can scoff at and say he should be let go. Especially with his deep ties to both the school and the city, the administration can’t really justify firing him while he’s at or near 70% or above. He’ll have to get a losing season or two, dip below 60% or miss the tournament like 2-3 years in a row to be even be in the discussion of being close to the hot seat.
In all likelihood he’ll have more seasons ahead of him as he’s likely to stay at his winning percentage since they’re stuck in the woeful American and eventually he’ll “resign” to pursue other opportunities or get pushed to GM or something else in the athletic department.
Ugh!
Bah Humbug.
December Blows.
tbf the only times when monday or thursday has more than 3 good games is thanksgiving or the week the bracket is released
