Looking at Temple (I can see that is the Temple symbol) but why are they playing clowns? Seriously, that mascot looks like a mean clown. I guess that can be scary.

Nothing interesting happening in Abilene Christian BYU game now at half time. BYU favored by 32 so it’s probably like a 20 point lead or something. You can assume.

I’d like to see transition numbers against Tech.
Almost everytime they have to play transition defense they are scored against. It might be the worst such defense I have seen on a team. It literally gives them no chance against contenders.

texas would kill to have a season as good as tech has in football and although tech is probably gonna be a 6 seed this year it’s still gonna be better than the loghorns by at least 3 seedlines again 
I’m gonna wait until they get guys healthy before I totally write them off. I don’t know if they’ve had all of their rotation guys available at one time yet this year.
But their defense is terrible right now.

I just dont get it.
Their half court defense isnt good, particularly against teams that move a lot witbout the ball, but its a hell of a lot better than theor transition defense. They at least have the ability to get some stops every now and then.
Offensively they have to take a lot of high quality shots as they have to make a high percentage to even have a chance. If they take an ill-advised 3, its a long rebound and automatic points going the other way. If they miss a shot and dont get the rebound they dont get back. EVERY team should look to push against them in transition.
I think Ive seen enough to say Tech will underperform its talent unless it gets some transfer help. Even then, the team part looks like a mess.

Probably this. They need to get healthy and they might get some transfer help, but the team construct of thr defense is a problem. I mean, there is no excuse for it being this bad. I coulls understand if they were getting best down low or something like that. But not getting back, marking your man, or playing any semblencr of team defense is crazy.

Well I actually Iike McCasland. And if you listen to his press conferences, he basically calls his guys out every time now for their lack of detail and effort.
So idk if its the construct so much as the execution. But idk

I think they’re just soft.
Last year’s team had great leadership (PG and SG) and generally showed solid effort on defense. And their non-Toppin big guy was pretty effective on defense and the boards. They don’t have any of that right now.

I gotta give Tech some credit for not just folding. When they make shots and get going they seem to be able to generate some stops and make up ground. But once tbey start missing, they immediately lose ground.
This last foul called on the Boozer drive was incredibly soft. Really, refs??

Tech has really played admirably in this game; they’ve been in serious foul trouble all the 2nd half, and have battled. Never giving in, and they have a very sparse bench on top of it.
