Too soon, ehog.

Most teams bigs don’t fare well against us not because of one on one match ups but because the minute it goes down into the paint they’re doubled. So that’s a HUGE reason why it hasn’t been critical for us to have 6’10"+ centers. Plus the way we rotate our bigs better have good feet or they’re not playing for Sampson.

Cedric is on campus this week.

Next week he is in our conditioning program and at practice.

He might improve our practice routine as Roberts and Francis and Chaney will then face more height.

Lath will be the biggest winner. Next Fall he should be ready to roll and will take Chaney’s place in our rotation.

I’m excited about Big Ced. I think he will be great one day. I do not expect much from him next year. More like Francis was last year.

I love having no expectations and being in a situation where nothing is expected from the kids because of our depth.

I love surprises even more. Like Sharp coming off the bench to hit 5 3’s.

Agreed. The continued development of Francis along with the solid foundation in Roberts is going to be huge for the development of Lath and McFarland. If we’re not expecting much from either of them next year (and that’s fair), I think CKS should go after a veteran big in the portal. But I’m really, really excited to see how good Francis is going to be next year. He’s well on his way to full on beast mode.

Francis is turning into our Carlton but he will be better, he has all the makings to be a monster under the basket, he is a vacuum cleaner with rebounds

Most on here just give opinions on subjects. No need to do research.

Research takes too much time. Much easier to just spitball and let Pesik or Joprior correct you.

Has anyone heard of this new kid we signed…Cedric Lath? I’m sure there will be some great discourse surrounding him. Probably an entire thread where every single post is only about Ced and his impact on the team. And maybe somebody in his family has a follow-worthy Twitter account.

Maybe maybe no

Does he play for Arizona

Of course, He is over 6’8"

Arizona’s starting 5 is a combined 394 inches tall. That means Arizona’s starting 5 is 4.925 Jarace Walkers tall. We can’t win a national championship with that. HOWEVER, Arizona’s starting 5 is ONLY 4.805 Cedric Laths tall (if he’s standing in crocs like he was on his official visit). Now THAT is something Sampson can work with. Don’t try to fight with logic you’ll just make yourself look silly.

So with Tugler, Lath, and McFarland next year, how will we manage minutes/rotation? And we’re talking about bringing in a big man transfer with experience.

Roberts and Tugler will rotate. No idea who will play out of Cedric or McFarland. My guess is Cedric because he’s getting here earlier and is physically ready

Francis & Roberts will start.

Lath will be backup 5.

And JoJo will be backup 4. Or you bring in an experienced 4.

Since its the Big 12, id bring in a transfer.

Tugler is good. But I think hes more a 5th big next year. Like Ja’vier Francis was his 1st year.

McFarland to redshirt, in my opinion. I wish he was coming in a semester early, tbh

my guess will be very different than coog1992

javier starting 5, roberts starting 4

tugler the back up 4 (*astersik - will expand later)

lath not getting minutes besides blowout games - sampson signing day video about lath was almost exclusively talking about how he is a long term project

mcfarland the backup 5, sampsons has hyped him up big about being the perfect player for us, said in a few season will be a starter on a team that can will a national title for us …

*50/50 we bring in a 4 with the capability to shoot/score – if we do tugler will be the backup 5 and we play undersized …w/ neither lath or mcfarland getting major PT

this is how i think sampson is envisioning it entering the end of the season… but by games 4 or 5 next year it could change-- similar to sharp who is the 6th man, but was likely envisioned as the 8th or 9th… lath has a college ready body, and and semester head start… both tugler and mcfarland need to add weight… lath is in a position to jump some players if he outplays Sampson’s expectations
