Good point. To my understanding, we are the only P4 that is technically a product of neither, or both, depending how you look at it… But yeah, our tier 1 portfolio is like 65% fox and 35% espn. (rough estimate)
And to the original point about the UNC hype, the ACC is definitely an ESPN property w/ just a little bit of Comcast (I think) sprinkled in there to supplement their otherwise meager media rights payout that ESPN has them bent over a barrel for.

Backwards. The current Big 12 is roughly 2/3 ESPN and only 1/3 FOX (at least for football games).
I do think the media story line implies that ESPN would rather have the ACC succeed and the Big 12 fail.
Funny timing. I was playing a game last night and one of the methods of victory was to find the place where they used the phrase “Help me, your my only hope.” We did find it and won the game.
Don’t know if that carries over to tonight. But, yes, the Big 12 needs a strong game here.

ESPN has an exclusive contract with the ACC. They want the ACC to succeed over the Big12. I believe ESPN is pushing the narrative of a P2 believing they would get all or one of the P2 conferences and then, to fill inventory, would get the other conferences for pennies on the dollar.
