Somewhat related, if you fire a coach midseason, the players can enter the transfer portal immediately.
It’s actually kind of nice of the schools who fired coaches last week. Their players could enter the portal AND still redshirt for this year…even the starters! Plus keep that NIL money, probably.
If a player tells the coach I am shutting it down after game 4, I am transferring at the end of the season, do you remove the player from the roster immediately?
To met the question is: can they adapt to the new era of college football?
The $ has to come from somewhere and Pickens is gone. Stillwater isn’t a recruiting hotbed. Never been there, so I can’t speak for the town or the university.
My point is, the new era is akin to any in evolution or economics… some can adapt and survive and some can’t. I wonder if OSU has the ability to survive… I have no idea.
Also, apart from their institutions, coaches themselves have to be able to adapt and survive. Gundy is clearly one who cannot.
Personally, it appears to me after last years debacle and this year, Gundy has checked out. Look at their roster… 4 freshman QBs, not including the kid they added last week off the clearance rack. That’s a guy not paying attention to his roster, not recruiting, or not knowing how or being able to compete for kids in 2025.
But, I don’t know enough to know how much is an OSU issue, how much is a Gundy issue, or what the mix of both it may be.
Too bad Houston is also on a bye, because I’m pretty sure I’m the first person in the history of North Central Iowa w/ no connection to UH to be blaring the womp womp as I drive across town from flag football practice.
My 9 year old son very much appreciates the lyrics once he figured them out lol. Quite addictive it is.
Wyoming at Colorado - i predict another CU loss, they are not good and by extension; i am not sure the coogs are, i am afraid the good big12 teams may be a string of losses.
Its not uncommon to still be unsure of exactly what you have this time of the year. Compared to what little we’ve seen of other teams in the same situation, I think UH is on the better side of things.
That’s why it’s truly a weird feeling as a Cyclone fan having played 4 whole games on national tv and now sitting on a bye…it feels like the season is more than half over. But ACTUALLY the season hasnt even really started yet lol
Maybe… I haven’t really looked because DK is saying I’m in a location where I can’t bet but I’m in NC… And support is via email because their chatbot is worthless…
