Charity Exhibition vs Texas A&M, October 27th 4PM

Ideally, we blowout teams early so we can let these guys get some run on the court during real games.

I don’t see how McFarland is going to be special on Defense. He lacked explosiveness and ability to elevate IMHO. Missed a couple of solid block opportunities and rebounds that should have been his alone.

I’m excited to watch his development.

It was his first game. We can’t base everything off of that.

I mean, this was Francis for 2 years, then last season it came together and he was a real problem for most teams

Francis athleticism has always been off the charts.

I’ve heard that McFarland is quite the athlete as well. I just didn’t get a chance to see it.

But as I said before, I’m excited to watch him develop

Just glad that once again our young bigs have such great leadership to learn from every day.
Such vets as Roberts and Javier along with uber talented Jojo.

This game is on YouTube.

Just watched it. We lead by 26 points with about 5 minutes left in game.

Total domination. Only weakness was our perpetual problem…FT shooting. All else was killer domination.

Miller looks good. Very good.

I don’t know about you but I saw some Shead-ish moves by Miller. I’m buying stock in this guy.

There is a major difference between ā€œgrossā€ profit and ā€œnetā€ profit . . . . .

Agree regarding not playing meaningful minutes this year. The point is that many of the comments here are in regards to future years (and don’t mention Jefferson).

even in the future… we are looking yeas out till he actually get notable pt…

sharp
harwell
flemmings? (or transfer pg)
mccarthy
mercy

at a minimum next year…
not counting milos, terrance can come back…and we arent going to rely soley on freshmen if these guys left and would bring in older guys filll out the depth… we only play 5 guards

By the by Jefferson looked good in the game.

Who could have known? Just even more depth.

He made some moves to the basket and in time he will learn to get a little arc in his shot:
He just doesn’t look comfortable shooting baskets or free throws

This is exactly my point, right or wrong. A lot of posts like yours looking years out and discounting Jefferson.

The reasoning was not based on defense, it was based on Sampson saying I do not trust freshmen. Unless they are NBA ready like J. Walker, I did not see him getting top minutes his freshman year. I could be wrong. If he comes around to a one and done type player, I will be the happiest Coog.

I know that he was really good but was Tugler NBA ready last season?

In my opinion, which means nothing, Tugler was not close to NBA caliber. Not even in terms of potential. He needs at least 1, maybe 2 more years in college.

That one doesn’t count I guess.

Sharp and TA played ā€œmeaningful ā€œ minutes….that was three freshman in one season CKS seemed to trust.

Tramon played quite a lot as a freshman.

Mills? Started some games….

Sasser? Started more than half the games freshman year……

CKS may not ā€œtrustā€ freshman, but he certainly has no problem playing freshman and even starting freshman that are NOT ā€œone and donesā€.

Go back and look at the past several years….he plays freshman ā€œmeaningful minutesā€ every year.

CKS says all kinds of things and it’s tough to get compliments from him….and yes, he may not fully ā€œtrustā€ them but he certainly plays them quite a bit.

Freshman that were not ā€œone and donesā€ have been crucial to the team almost every year.
