Charity Exhibition vs Texas A&M, October 27th 4PM

Aggies have 10x the fanbase we do and would travel to see their guys play ping pong.
Geez it is a meaningless exhibition game.
Back in the day this would have been sold out the day it was announced.
That rivalry is long gone, but I would love to see our Coogs mash them for old time sakes lol.
But no reason to be upset about attendance.
Btw all season ticket holders should have gotten first dibs on their seats

Where were all those Aggies last year in Toyota Center and FedEx Forum where we outdrew them twice?

They had a decent group but nothing like I expected. Back in the 70s I saw them out number us at Hofheinz even when we had decent teams.

We beat them twice last year would love to spank them again in a couple of weeks but not gonna stress about it, just hope for no injuries

It’s an exhibition. Spanking or losing to Ags mean nothing. I’m going cuz I want to see first hand what our young freshmen and Milo’s look like on the court. Dont need one get hurt on both teams. Other than that, it’s a charity event and enjoy the event.

Oh it always means something to spank A&M or UT in anything

This^^^^^^

But some feel the need to complain about something and will make attendance their topic of choice following the EXHIBITION!

Why wait until after the game. Lets complain NOW . . . . .

Except that this game doesn’t count towards w/l records so it’s basically meaningless. Both coaches will try different lineups, plays
etc. see how things workout against other personnel.

i wouldnt say its meaningless

we beat a&m twice in nail biting games, which included one that ended their seasons
the last game single handedly ruined the national perception of wade taylor
both teams return over 80% of their rotation (so its not new play dynamics)
not adding that they are down the road and both teams are top 15 (us top 5)

in the context of scrimmmages there will likely never be an oppoent this motivated to beat us
they will definitely come at it from the perspective of revenge and getting over the hurdle

the result will be meaningless, but how the game is played will carry on through the early part of the season
especially if its 1 sided

I agreed with you but I guess I should expressed my point better. It’s meaningless in the w/l factor. It won’t count towards the series record. That’s why it isn’t being shown on tv as some people have been inquiring.

i hope it gets streamed at least, a few exhibitions have already been announced for tv

Damn. Maybe it will get picked up by espn +. Good info.

Aggies don’t care about basketball - baseball and football matters - basketball doesn’t fit their culture

No doubt the age are going to bring it with us beating them twice including their last memory.
If we beat them that great omen considering the motivations for the the age. If they happen to win means absolutely nothing for our prospects.

I think Samson wants to see what the core players do together as a unit with Milos running the point. This is also an opportunity to see where TA and Tugler stand as players returning from injuries, not to mention the young guns will probably see significant minutes to see how they fare against D1 competition.

Winning is obviously fun for the fans and players, but gametime experience, especially for the young guys, is invaluable in terms of development, both individually and as a unit.

Personally, I’m intrigued by Milos at the point, the development of Tugler, and how Mercy and Chase play against D1 competition. If either of the freshmen shine, look out!

Confirmed with Lauren Sampson on X that there will be no intra-squad scrimmage this year. They have replaced that with the Texas A&M charity scrimmage.

Looks like they are doing student tickets for this one, hopefully that means we are able to fill up the Fertitta Center.

UC is hosting Ohio State on Friday.

UC will only have audio.

I think the only reason to televise a charity game for free is if the game is sold out. The UC game isn’t sold out.

Now if they want to charge 20 bucks for the stream with profits going to charity then streaming makes sense

What does that mean?
