Top 20 Most Conservative:

(Two Big 12 Schools: BYU at #9 and Baylor at #19 make the list)

Top 20 Most Liberal:

(Oregon at #7 and (surprisingly to me) UVa at #20 are the only P4 schools on the list)

No real surprises. Very religious universities are the most conservative. Private liberal arts colleges dominate the most liberal.

Shouldn’t n’t be surprising to anyone

It’s interesting.

The Cleveland Institute of Art, which is on that list, actually shares a campus with my undergrad college; it’s a completely separate and independent art conservatory though with its own buildings, dorms, degree programs, and admissions.

That said, I had no idea it was THAT liberal, though I guess I should have expected that it was, seeing how it is an artsy fartsy school.

I would say yeah anythng with an arts focus would be pretty liberal. Just like anything with a heavy religious backing especially from the more conservative sects/denominations etc will be very conservative by extension.

The school that I absolutely expected to be on that list, and was in fact on the list at #5, was Oberlin College in Ohio.

I used to run into some of their students at the airport in Cleveland when I was in college, and it’s no exaggeration to say that they were about the biggest bunch of HIPPIES I’ve ever seen!

Yeah that’s Oberlin’s rep for sure. But I bet if we go back a few years there’s very little major movement in these lists. Probably little more than different arrangements of the same schools.
