In real life not an ethnic Russian, he was Jewish.

Then you also had a black female, and a gay asian.

One thing I saw that I never knew from Star Trek.
The guy was apparently VERY bald, and was already receding quite badly at the time of the series.
They gave him a āmop topā hair piece for the show, from what Iāve read.
That wasnāt until well after the show ended. Movies, too, if Iām not mistaken.
