With Jordan Love out with injury for the Packers tonight, it is expected that Clayton Tune will be elevated from the practice squad and be the back up to Malik Willis. Willis, however, is nursing an injury so Tune might see some action against the Ravens. Lamar Jackson of the Ravens is also expected to miss the game due to injury.

Packers announce Tune will start this weekend. Jordan Love has completed concussion protocol, but it seems the Packers want Love to have an extra week of rest.

Sh*t, I missed it. It sounds like he played OK. As long as he doesn’t give the ball to the other guys, he should still have a job. I want EVERY UH guy to do well in that league, but I don’t keep up with it.

AFAIK, the NFL and UFL have some kind of player exchange agreement, in case the seasons overlap or so. Some want to keep playing or get extra reps. This is Tunes chance to do so

After being cut from the Packers, Clayton Tune signed with the UFL’s Columbus Aviators. Today I learned that Tune has been removed from the Aviators’ roster because he signed an NFL futures contract. It isn’t clear to me which team offered Tune a futures contract, but it is enough to know that his NFL dream isn’t over.

Basically, a futures contract is pre-signing a player to next season’s training camp roster.
Right now, NFL teams still have the 53-player roster limit from last year’s regular season. In March, the roster limit increases to 90 players. Since Tune signed a futures contract, he does not count against the current 53-player limit, but when the “league year” begins in March, he will count toward his team’s 90-player training camp limit. But his team has already locked him down now.
