I hope he earns one!

Realistically, Tune is competing for a practice squad spot. This is professional sports and you are one injury or trade away from moving up on the roster.

Imagine a Tune to Dell TD in a preseason game. That would be special.

Why was he released? I thought his lackadaisical decisions had improved. Seriously.

Always thought he had the physical talent for the NFL but seems to be a slow processor to me. I’ve read that he works his ass off.

Better in a real game.

Or in a postseason game…

The QB position is by definition a team’s key position. But where it gets tricky is when the Coaching staff is not utilizing the player’s best abilities/strength.
What we see in the nfl season after season is a plethora of QB’s not utilizing their best abilities. This is no coincidence on which franchises win on a regular basis.
Take Mahomes for example. He was picked 10th.

Can somebody explain to me why the bears picked Trubisky over Mahomes?
John Fox was their HC. He is not a dumb arse but clearly the entire Bears management has some explaining to do.
So Mahomes get drafted by Andy Reid. Reid has full control on who the Chiefs pick. Who is Andy Reid? Tons of people will call him an offensive genius but maybe more importantly a great talent evaluator. He picked Mahomes for what Mahomes strengths/abilities bring to Reid’s offense. That is why they so good.
Now take Deshaun Watson picked by the Texans. Did the then Texans HC pick Watson for his strengths/abilities? The answer is clearly no.
We know where Stroud is at today. Rarely have I seen a QB with such a “look” in a playoff game. The Texans could have easily kept Case…they did not.
Andy Reid exemplifies what you need in the nfl…That is a monstrous amount of luck.
Remember how great Case was with the vikings?..but no the G.M. and HC told him to eff off. They spent a Fort Knox amount on cousins for what?
Another player we all know:
Andre Ware, he was picked by the detroit lions…by the Ford family. Wayne Fontes, the very own detroit lions HC DID NOT want him. This list goes on and on. I will go a step further writing that a ton a nfl HC and G.M’s should never be in these jobs. We see a constant change of NFL HC’s every year…but if you look over the last 30 years you see the same franchises win. This is not a coincidence…never has been.

Stroud better shape up or else he needs to be gone.

I don’t quite follow how the answer is “clearly no”. Why did they choose him then?

Up the Tune!

My biggest question about the Watson time here is, what do the Texans have on the Browns’ owner? They not only bamboozled the Browns with the Watson trade, they had already bamboozled them before with the Brock Osweiler trade.

No, the Texans did not use him to his strengths. Did they put in place the best offensive line to protect him same with LT, RT, TE, WR? They clearly did not. Granted Watson is not the best citizen. Where is bob today?
The Texans franchise has not been competitive at all since they started. That is not a coincidence.

That’s not what you were saying originally, Chris. You said they did not pick him for his strengths/abilities which of course they did because why else would you choose an athlete in a draft? Picking someone in the draft and using them effectively are two different issues.

I agree with you they did not use him to his strengths, of course the coaching was bad as well as other issues with the football operations. Now your comments make more sense, so thanks for the clarification. I see what you were trying to say.

I will go a step further. This was clearly evident what Case brought to the Texans and C.J. Stroud. Granted Case was injured but why was he able to sign with the Bears? Then he goes to the Bears and all of sudden Williams plays to his potential. You do not have to be a nuclear physics major to know that indeed the Texans failed…again at key decisions. This is especially true when you have 10 or more wins in these last three seasons. Little details have historical ramifications.
Caserio of all people should know. Even though Belichick had final say with player personal Caserio was part of a franchise that made key decisions year after year. One of his key decisions going forward is to immediately bring back Case.
