If you guessed Seymour, Fort Worth, and Monahans, you’re right. Those three cities share the Texas record for the highest recorded temperature, each hitting a scorching 120°F. Seymour and Fort Worth reached the mark on Aug. 12, 1936, and Monahans matched it on June 28, 1994

I knew about Seymour and Monahans, but hadn’t seen that about Ft. Worth.

Coldest temp ever recorded is not too far from Monahans in Seminole in 1933) and also up in Tulia in 1899 (-23). That blizzard and cold snap was probably the most intense ever, and its low temps are still records in many Texas cities.
