Coach in Waiting?

Ridiculously poor post

Kelvin Sampson current record is 629-327.

He started the season with a 6 year contract and 614 wins. Counting the start of this season and averaging 25 wins per season, his record would project to 150 more wins, or 764 wins total.

A lot of things would have to work out well to average 25 wins per season for the next 6 years, but I believe it is an achievable milestone.

I’m optimistic as a fan, we’ll return at least once to the Final Four, perhaps more.

IMHO, the originals were the best . . . . .Keith Jackson, Howard Cosell and Dandy Don Meredith . . . . . They set the bar really high . . . . .

You got that right. I understand Kellen was the guy that got Hinton to commit. If this is true, I think he’s a great recruiter!

I think Kellen has specific in-game responsibilities. And he keeps at least some of the numbers, you’ll see him show his clipboard to CKS from time-to-time. And he’ll pick his spots as far as doing some instruction. During the last home game he saw something he didn’t like and was really giving someone the business. I can’t remember who but if I had to guess I’d say DeJon. :innocent::man_shrugging:

I don’t remember ever watching Namath and O.J. on MNF. OJ was on from 83-85 and Namath only in 85. I was working on the North Slope in fall of 83, just don’t remember them, maybe I just blocked them from my mind.

One thing that has always surprised me is how many times the announcers, especially the color guys, didn’t know the rules on certain plays.

'85 makes sense, as it was the year before I went to UofH and we had a family friend living with us. We had so much fun just listening to the broadcast, because OJ and Namath were just batspit insane with their color, and Gifford would try to get back to the game. It was hilarious.
