A good choice imo, great that Blackburn is staying around as Director of Track and Field!

Terrible that it happened this way, but the best possible outcome given the situation.

This was the best way to do it. Both get a promotion, Lewis as the face is big for the school obviously and Blackburn has been crucial to the program.

Interesting info from JD and the Chron….

“Blackburn, 44, signed a three-year deal and will make $120,000 in 2023, $130,000 in 2024 and $140,000 in 2025, according to a contract obtained through open records request. The 61-year-old Lewis, who signed a one-year deal that will pay $90,000 plus performance-based incentives, said he’s committed to the job through at least 2028, when he will be involved with U.S. track and field at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.”

Would anyone be surprised to see Carl bring in the Olympic torch at the opening ceremonies?

That would be sweet (and justified).
