Yep. There’s nothing to lose at this point. I see no reason to put Smith back in.

Same mistakes since he transferred to Houston:

  1. Throws into triple coverage or tight windows and eventually gets picked.
  2. Takes way too long to react and make a decision on where he’s throwing the ball.
  3. Slow first step when trying to run with the ball. Very little ability to escape a hard pass rush.
  4. Locks in on players without going through progressions. This usually results in missing players that are wide open. It also leaves the line WR vulnerable to the defender.

Bottom line is we need a new QB. Sure come the offensive line isn’t great, but we need someone that can run, make better decisions with the ball, get the ball out quickly to the WR, and not be so prone to throwing interceptions. I don’t know is the solution but right now I want to see coach give someone else a shot.
