Coach Quannas White - Louisiana Ragin Cajuns - thread

I am still amazed at the career Alvin Brooks had with UH returning as an assistant. When he was fired as head coach, I would have never expected him to be back on campus much less a valued member of two different head coach’s staff.

Who knew CKS was the chill one on our prior staff.

Not a good look imo.

That’s that fire and what he should do to protect his players.

I guess we know who the guard whisperer is in Houston…

Jamyron Keller, has been injured. Which has been a big loss. (Only played 2 games this season)

358th in offensive efficiency per KenPom.

They’re at 1-11, and near the bottom in offense and everything, and getting crazy FT differentials. That’s a lot frustration that came out in that clip.

the crashout is understandable when bro passed up coaching the most talented guard we’ve had in the cks years to coach a bottom 25 team lol

None of Coach Sampson’s assistants have ever really peed a drop after flying the coop.

Jimmy Tubbs fired after 2 seasons at SMU.
Jason Rabedeaux fired after 3 seasons at UTEP.

Ray McCallum lasted awhile at Detroit on the back of his son, making 1 Dance. But he was a head coach at Ball St and UH before joining Sampson. His Ball St run was better than his Detroit run.

Alvin has had a couple of nice seasons at Lamar, but still less than .500 there and no postseason trips. Again, he was a head coach before he assisted Sampson.

Travis Steele assisted Sampson at Indiana for a short while, and got a head job at Xavier 10 years later. I guess he’s part of the Tree. Currently coaching Miami O. No NCAA tournaments at either school.

All in all, the Sampson “Coaching Tree” is not very impressive. He’s such a dominant force of nature himself, he casts a much longer shadow than his assistants.

@Chiklets im a big Quannas fan. Everything he preaches, i want in a head coach.

This is a rebuild year. Thats fine, build the culture.

But losing to Jackson St at home, is not acceptable.

Gotta get some Ws. Offense cant be this putrid.

How are they gonna get high level transfers in the portal, with this bad a 1st yr?

There’s 365 D1 teams. Louisiana ranks 358th in Offensive Efficiency.

Im rooting for Coach Q. Will be watching their next game

There is only ONE coach Sampson and when he retires we are going to really miss him

Outbursts like last night is not going to endear their AD to give him a second chance. UL could have 30 losses this year AND coach is making headlines for his crashouts?

Why are y’all being weird about a coach yelling at refs while being ejected? Are y’all ok? There’s nothing he did in that clip that’s out of the ordinary for a coach deciding to make a scene and get ejected. If anything the police rushing in to put their hands on him is the bad look here not Coach Q.

I agree with this.

We never see police run out on the floor so aggressively.

@olutrain i watched the full thing again on ESPN+.

Wish i could clip it.

After a no-call, where his player drew contact.

Coach Q went after the nearest ref aggressively. Ill see if i can post the clip

Immediate ejection, probably. Security needed, no.

That’s bit overboard, I think.
