So you don’t root for the Aggies even though you attended college there?

Battered Aggie syndrome

The amount of money I have donated to Aggie athletics with absolutely no ROI has jaded me and quite a few others. I’ll never stop rooting for them but I have lowered my monetary and emotional investment. The decision makers, athletic department and BORs seem to have made coaching there difficult. I think it’s a culture problem. There’s way too many chefs in the kitchen and they try to satisfy and please too many people.

In fact, after hearing coach Sampson speak this week about the request he made and how he works with the university president and athletic department about his needs being met early on and His tenure, I know Texas A&M has many issues up top.

again - those demographics don’t scream basketball - 2% of the primary recruiting base? A&M is a hard sell to kids unless you overpay them

This tweet is interesting. Brian Davis is a well connected sports reporter based in Austin and used to be the UT beat writer for the Austin American Statesman. He says Chris Beard contacted A&M before there was even an opening. He played A&M to get more money from Mississippi.

OK, I just assumed that any school with Hispanic students would be considered an Hispanic serving school. I’m not sure what % is needed.

North Texas is also -

This may not be that uncommon. I remember CKS specifically praising Eddie Nunez for offering to let the team stay in Arizona before the Arizona State roadie.

It was still an upgrade from G. Rollie White (aka, Gee, They’re All White!)

J_Coog, actually it was kind of the opposite. The Conf does their best to schd 2 gms consecutively to minimize longer ( flights) trips in season to same area. CKS preferred to come home btw the 2 gms-- Ariz, Ariz St, to keep things consistent in btw gms. AD Nunez allowed ( budget $$ ) team to fly home on Saturday, then go rt back on Monday for Ariz St gm on Tuesday. Coach was appreciative of AD & Admin for allowing that to happen

Edit: the main point as you were indicating is the Admin has given CKS their full Support to do whatever is necessary to give the tools they need to be n stay at the Top.
