College Basketball 2024-2025 Season

@Section102 Im not trying to be mean.

But if we lost to Notre Dame in the Players Era. Would’ve been a terrible resume loss

Just trying to protect teams from bad losses in that MTE

Invite only the best. Im my opinion

Protect teams from bad losses? You sound like an elitist. If you’re good, you’re good. And taking a lower quadrant L in November isn’t going to matter much come March except for those bubble teams.

You’re going to play (3) games in 4 days. Which is not typical in college basketball

Yes, i am an elitist. If you suck, i dont want to play you

Why dont we schedule teams from the American Conference anymore?

Attending that MTE, you would hope all the games would be Quad 1. Or at least two Quad 1 opportunities

You don’t agree with that?

So playing 3 games in 4 days only affects the good teams. Got it.

You didn’t respond to my question.

We played Alabama. And played Notre Dame the next day. We were exhausted & could’ve lost.

Notre Dame isnt good. Why invite bad teams to an MTE?

Maui & Battle of Atlantis try to invite only the best teams

Syracuse & St Joes, haven’t been good in a long time. The rest of the Players Era group is really good. Invite like top 60 teams

I mean even those fields usually have a couple bad teams. It’s inevitable. Nothing wrong with ND being invited, since they do have fans and occasionally put together a good squad. Same thing for Syracuse. Saint Joes is a little more of a head scratcher but if they’ve already signed on to do it, it kind of is what it is.

Notre Dame does have a highly ranked 2025 Recruiting Class. I wonder if being in Players Era will help these teams recruit better with the NIL purse so the floor isn’t very low.

Im not trying to be a jerk.

But if you do lose to St Joes or Syracuse on a neutral. That’s close to a Quad 3 loss. That hurts your seeding

@ClutchCityCoogs good point on Notre Dame. They do have some good recruits next yr.

The crowds…those crowds in Vegas appeared to be pretty slim. Maybe you get a few hundred that flyout for each fanbase

I don’t agree with that mindset. We shouldn’t be discounting teams like ND (brand recognition alone) or non-traditional basketball schools from the P4 or mid-majors.

We were those losers for so long and not getting an invite EVER to an MTE only drives a program deeper into lethargy.

I didn’t notice that.

Who knows how good either will be next year. Saint Joes is definitely an interesting selection but Syracuse has a massive brand/following. They’ll show out in force to Vegas. Adding them makes a ton of since from an operational standpoint because they’ll drive revenue.

St Joe’s beat Texas Tech this year. And Nova and Virginia Tech. They’re not a Southland squad.

And Notre Dame is not bad. They lost to Creighton and Rutgers by 5 points combined in Vegas and have had awful luck in one point losses to UNC and NC State. They also only lost to Duke by 8 AT Duke.

Let’s not be that fan base.

Talks about the game as well

We found, in San Antonio, what it’s like to play two tough games in 3 days. Three tough games in 4 days is a tough row to hoe.

3-10 should be good games but how is duke and purdue pummeling their struggling rivals at home by 30 the best 2 games of the week lol

This.

North Carolina needed a 33-14 FT edge to beat Boston College in overtime in Chapel Hill.
BC is 224 in the NET. They’d be the third worst team on our entire schedule only beating Louisiana and Jackson State.

It appears Mike Woodson will step down as HC for Indiana Basketball at end of season.
Look for CKS name not to be brought up as a replacement. They still blame him for everything… 15+ yrs later.
Slow day!

My top FF:
1 Auburn
2. Duke
3. UH
4. Dark horse, maybe SDSU, Bama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida
don’t overlook the ball coach at St. John’s.

Good chance SEC gets 2 to the FF this year depending on seeding and brackets
