That is gospel. I saw Whitley play a few games and dominate doesn’t begin to describe him-everyone, even our own guys, tried to get out of his way–bad to the bone and badass come close for a description. All that said, the highest praise i could ever give him was that he was no whiner, crybaby 'cause he didn’t get his way, and was always a full time coog-never let the team down. Can’t say that about some of the later ones.

My memory of Wilson Whitley was the 30-0 beatdown in Austin with Whitley spending the entire day in the UT backfield flying around with shreds of that tear-away jersey flapping in the wind.

You too–I was at that one and was just astounded at how the coogs handled the cows. You’re right, herd of cows had nightmares of a coog (big coog) on the loose in that game. Never been to a game since where the loser team’s fans were totally, totally, silent afterward. Sure was proud to be a coog that day!!!
