Ward was good, but OU had Perine and Mixon, good RB’s, they could not run away from big Ed. He stuffed them up the middle, ran them down on the edge, he had their offense struggling and my OU friends said after the game they are done, it will be a long season. Of course they made the playoffs. Ed was that good, of course the FG returned for a TD was amazing.

I don’t think they made the playoffs in 2016.
They lost to Ohio State a couple of weeks later after we beat them and no P5 team ever made the playoffs with a loss to a G5 team.

OU didn’t make the playoffs BUT…they did beat Auburn in the Sugar Bowl, and finished in the final Top 5 in both polls (#3 in the Coaches Poll).
UH can legitimately claim to have beaten a final Top 5 team that season, with Ed Oliver playing a big part in it!
I don’t know how many UH teams in our school history can claim to have had a season with a win over a team that finished in the Final Top 5. Probably not many.
Dana Holgorsen had only one victory over a team that ultimately finished in the Top 25, by comparison. That was last season’s “Hail Mary” win over WVU.

Not the most physically talented QB in UH history, but he definitely has ‘IT’ and he’s the most accomplished and the most iconic QB in UH history.

i was mainly just curious if any mention was given to the games starting this weekend. i know there’s a lot of smu dislike here but i don’t, lived a mile away while working in DFW years ago. they play nevada, that’s a good roadie imo as you can stay in beaituful lake tahoe and drive over for the game.
