Can you put the numbers next to facilities?
This will give us a better “view” of what is actually going on.

Let’s face it, the only reason there were 84k for the Big 12 finals is because of Texas and the possibility of making the playoffs.
I think the AAC at Tulane drew around 25k…which is probably stadium capacity…

The Big 12 Championship Game featured a Blue Blood that is leaving the Conference.

We will be Blue Bloodless next season.

No USC in PAC and no Clemson in ACC…

Interestingly enough…

When it comes to TV ratings…

Washington’s win over Oregon delivered the most-watched Pac-12 Football Championship on record on Friday, with ABC drawing 9.2 million viewers (per fast-national figures). That figure is up 54% from 5.97 million last year for Utah-USC on Fox.

Maybe it’s the novelty of watching the LAST EVER PAC title game.

LAW…you’re missing the Forest for the Trees.

The PAC Championship featured TWO P2 worthy programs…of course it did well on TV

The Big 12 Championship featured ONE P2 Worthy squad on its way to the Playoff…of course the UT fans drove from Houston/Dallas/Ft Worth/Austin/San Antonio to be there

The ACC featured ZERO P2 worthy programs and their attendance does not bode well in your prediction that FSU IS going to get a P2 invitation anytime soon.

FSU isn’t P2 worthy?

Hmm…there’s definitely more than one school of thought on that!

Clemson and FSU are definitely P2 worthy. That’s why they’ll be there before you know it!

OTOH…it’s clear that the playoff committee considers the ACC to be VASTLY inferior in terms of its top to bottom strength.

That’s why FSU didn’t get in as an undefeated conference champion, while the Big 12 and SEC both qualified one loss conference champions.

Anyway, USC was definitely P2 worthy…and it didn’t draw anywhere close to what the PAC title game drew this year.

Again…the novelty of watching the LAST EVER PAC title game.

Yes YOU put an OOF next to their attendance …for a 12-0 Squad

FSU wasn’t the problem.

Their opponent, OTOH, is NOT P2 worthy.

If they were P2 worthy…they’d have a P2 invitation, a way to get out of their GOR, a spot in the 4 team playoff.

as of today, they have none of those.

Texas played a non P2 worthy school and managed to pack the place…FSU fans DID NOT!

All FSU can do is slam their fist on the table and cry 'Marsha Marsha Marsha" about the P2 Revenue

79k record att in atlanta and above capacity
lucas oil 70k capacity
at+t can go to 105

i grant a break to the acc and pac12 they drew about the att of their top schools, the big10 and sec under drew their top schools but that was the stadium, will be quite interesting if the big12 can do 84k again next year. they still could if utah or arizona goes with newness of going to the big12 championship game in year 1.

That’s also because in Texas…FOOTBALL IS KING…more so than in any other state!!!

The Cowboys routinely announce attendance of 94,000. The Seattle game drew over 93,000. The Stadium holds 100,000 and can be expanded to 110,000.

Thus there must have been some empty seats at Jerry World.

Also didnt the Big 12 championship get almost 10 million viewers last year, without either TU or Okie-supreme sandwich?

Versus mid 7’s with the bluest of bloods.

No empty seats , that’s with standing room

As one of the largest football stadiums in the country, AT&T Stadium has a capacity of 80,000 seats or up to 105,000 with standing room

True.

Incredulously enough, while the Big 12 led all conferences in championship game attendance, their ratings were lower than usual.

Texas beat Oklahoma State on Saturday in the 12pm window, drawing 7.89 million viewers to ABC. Excluding the pandemic game in 2020, that’s the lowest audience for a Big 12 Championship since Fox drew 5.9 million in 2017 for the return of the event after a six-year hiatus (Oklahoma-TCU, 5.9 million).

I don’t think anybody cares that it was the last ever PAC championship. The game was by itself that night and it featured 2 top 5 teams. That’s why it did so well on TV… mostly because it was the only game on that night.
