What do the stranded astronauts have to do with it? They were in space!
There is bias no doubt.
Texas and North Carolina got tournament bids for 1 reason. Ratings
These teams were not deserving but have huge followings whereas from a marketing perspective teams like UConn, Gonzaga, Houston do not move the ratings needle. At the end of the day It’s all about the money for the TV networks.
And why is the #3 overall (us) in the same bracket as #1 overall Duke before the final ?
Typically you have the winner between #1 and # 4 play the winner between # 2 and # 3
Normally I’d probably bite on this but, you know what? This year, we’re so good and so deep that I don’t really care who they throw at us and where. We can beat anybody.
Coogs vs the world and I take the Coogs this season.
Sorry not sure if this was sarcasm or not. How I interpret the brackets is this…there are 4 brackets to the Final Four. Therefore there are 4 No.1 seeds. The overall No1 seed did not go to Duke, it went to Aurburn.thus the other No1 seeds went as follow… Duke, Houston, and Florida. Your assessment the 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 is accurate and then the Championship game.
Sorry if I misunderstood you.
I bit guys… NVM

I like to believe the extra diversity they put in our bracket is because IF we make the Final Four we have a short drive and should fill the stadium with Cougar Red.
“They” also got the astronauts back quite literally just in time for the First Weekend. They are being very obvious about like like people wont notice these things. it really makes you think. its blatant
Not sure if you guys have been listening to Houston Sports radio shows but the Cougars Basketball Season, as a National Championship Contender, has received 100 times the coverage/calls as compared to the Longhorns recent football season, as a National Championship Contender.
That’s why I laugh at people who say the City of Houston is a Longhorn/ Aggie/ LSU/ Texas Tech/ Baylor city…HOUSTON IS A UH CITY first!
The Coogs just have to be good!
Don’t believe me, listen to 790 AM…and THEY are Houston’s UT Flagship station
That’s why if we keep building our brand and improve our football base/ratings plus improve our academics (i.e AAU), we just might be on the B1G’s radar in the early 2030s.
Why wouldn’t they want a UT version 2.0 in a bigger city in a powerful state like Texas?
The trend continues to be a P2…move the big pieces on either side.
I have a friend who does software testing for Boeing for the recent crewed NASA missions. He says that NASA is the reason the astronauts were stranded. The vehicle they were supposed to come back on had triple redundancy in the thrusters, and the fault that the vehicle experienced brought one of the thrusters down to double redundancy. NASA’s safety tolerance usually allows for double redundancy but they are dissatisfied with their contract with Boeing so they made a big show about the astronauts being stranded in hopes of breaking ties with boeing in the future.
