Not at the rates we are seeing now, antivax and anti science misinformation is a global problem.
In 2024, the European Region experienced a significant measles outbreak, with 127,350 cases reported, marking the highest number since 1997 and it was double the number reported in 2023.
This resurgence in measles cases is largely attributed to a decline in vaccination coverage, particularly among children.
Many European countries have vaccination rates that have dropped below 95% which is considered the rate needed for herd immunity.
In 2024, Romania reported the highest number of cases in the region and also experienced 18 deaths attributed to measles,
It’s so ironic, in today’s world with instant mass communications, nobody
should be so badly misinformed. But the technology enables the anti-science crowd like Joe Rogan, Aaron Rodgers, and their types as well. And by the numbers,they are doing better with the help of the technology. The guys “doing
their own research” are making progress. Thanks to unmoderated sources
like FB and X, it will probably get worse.

It seems like we’re tilting closer toward the Dark Ages than the Age of Enlightenment.
Information is worthless without the ability to discern between the good stuff and nonsense, so the coordinated effort to undermine trustworthy sources takes away an important resource and continues to move society backwards.
