Man, that’s great. Welcome aboard, Corey.

Wow, he didn’t even visit LSU. Coach Sampson must have had some good selling points.
Welcome Corey!

Welcome aboard, Corey. And as always, “Eat 'em up Coogs!”

What do we look like next year? Is Rob coming back?

Unless he changes his mind, Rob says he’s coming back.

We’ll be younger, but have more talent and depth than last year’s team.

Big question: does Chris Harris make it over? We don’t have any scholarships available right now so we’d have to move someone or he’d have to walk-on.

Nice. Looking at his stats- solid everywhere.
Wasn’t shocked to see UH beat LSU. He has limited years & LSU needs a huge overhaul.

Great on the line & as a playmaker.

Maybe you should consider crediting people with their work in the public domain.

Dunnigan ?! He is not in the rotation, and it seems each year there is attrition. Not just at UH, but mostly every single div. 1 basketball school has some type of unexpected personnel roster change.

Well, he’s learned how to use other people’s excel skills without crediting them, at any rate.

This certainly sounds like GREAT news!!!

OTOH, what about Galen Robinson Jr? Is Davis likely to displace him?

Any team that’s going to make a serious post season run needs to be at least 2 deep. So let’s gather more top talent and let 'em compete and let 'em play!

Example from the '81-'82 UH BB team 3 deep:

Point Guard: Rob Williams, Lyndon Rose, Eric Dickens
Two Guard: Rodney Parker, David Rose, Reid Gettys
Three Forward: Michael Young, Clyde Drexler, Benny Anders
Power Forward: Larry Micheaux, Brian Williams, Gary Orsak
Center: David Bunch, Dan Bunch, Akeem Olajuwon

With this kind of talent and depth, the competition in UH practices during the '81-'82 season was tougher than in some of our games. I know, because I was fortunate enough to be able to attend several of those practices and probably saw every home game that year. And later in the year, as I sat there inside the Superdome in New Orleans at the Final Four, I couldn’t understand how Rob Williams could go 0-for-Saturday against some (unknown to me) guy named Michael Jordan.

I have no idea who is going to start at pg, but that’s a good problem to have. Rob Gray can now concentrate on just scoring, and defense. Robinson & Gray will be the primary ball handlers to set up the offense.
This team now has a lot of 3 point shooters, from the one, to the four position.

My favorite artist is Ryan Adams.

Oddly enough, I don’t care for that guy’s music.

He’s got a KEWL name though!

“The coaching staff in general had a big role to play in my commitment,” Davis said. “They made me feel like I was family. They just made me feel like I was at home.”

Davis, who is from Lafayette, La, could have done just that, go home, by signing with LSU.

“LSU was always one of my dream schools,” Davis said. “I always wanted to come back to my hometown school, but considering all of my options, the best situation to put myself in, U of H just made it very difficult to go back home.

“It was a comfortable decision, comfortable and easy.”
