Coogs in the Pros - Divisional Round

A Rookie Coog will play in the Super Bowl this year as Elandon Roberts’ Patriots will face Demarcus Ayers’ Steelers next week in the AFC Championship.

Elandon Roberts (NE): Roberts was in on 36 snaps in the Patriots 34-16 win over the Texans and made 3 tackles, 1 solo. Roberts basically platoons with Kyle Van Noy as the designated run stuffer in the LB corps while Van Noy handles passing downs. Expect Roberts to get a lot of chances next week against the Steelers’ Le’Veon Bell.

Demarcus Ayers (PIT): Ayers didn’t see much action in the Steelers 18-16 victory over the Chiefs, but he did make 1 catch on his only target for a gain of 6 yards early on during the Steelers last scoring drive. It’ll be interesting to see how much time Ayers gets on the field next week as the Steelers seem to pick their spots with him with success.

Injured Reserve: Sebastian Vollmer (NE) and Nolan Frese (SEA)
Practice Squad: Derrick Mathews (GB)

Next Week’s games

Ayers played the first series and was never in again. I wonder if he was injured?

Ayers had a reception in the 4th quarter.

He was in on a few series in the second half. Thought Ben could have looked at him a few more times but its great he’s out there.

A Coog will be in another SuperBowl. That is pretty cool.
