3,243
Cougar Pride Ranking
Do we really only have 3,243 CP members? What does that number mean?
It means that we’ve added basically zero in the last several years.
Here are some of the excuses from 2024. In the original post in that thread, UH advertised over 4,800 members. If that was true, then we’ve lost 1/3 of the membership since then, but I suspect that was an inflated number to begin with.
That’s pretty sad. I would think we get a boost in memberships after transitioning to the Big 12. After a good year, I expected a big jump in donors and season ticket holders. We need to some how regain excitement like the Herman years. Hopefully, as we continue win we will continue to trend up.
Dammit, pretty sad when I’m in the 1300s
I bet some people partnered up knowing they won’t make all the games.
Look at the accounts that have 5+ tickets to their name.
I used to be with someone else until I got my own account and changed seat locations.
Oh, sh!t, that’s me lol
I truly felt they were on the come up back then. Now, it definitely feels the vibes have fizzled out.
I didn’t intend to point at you - was really just trying to link that old thread.
It’s pretty disappointing to see the lack of progress on that front, but it tracks with what we’re seeing in football ticket sales and attendance.
Yes, there are several people who do group tickets with others which brings down the numbers of “members” but brings up the number of tickets sold as some of those people wouldn’t buy the ticket on their own w/o the group.
We used to buy tickets as a group so we could all sit together and it created problems because I’d you wanted your own CP account and then request to sit with a group they used to go by the lowest CP ranking.
Every season ticket in football and men’s basketball has a donation tied to it. They count each of those accounts as a donor. So when people don’t renew, they lose “donors” as well. And when we joined the Big 12, we played Texas that year, so there were a bunch of brokers and others that purchased season tickets, so that inflated the donor number.
I don’t think CP has done a good job of cultivating new members. It seems they rely on the ticket office and sales team to sell tickets instead of trying to get new philanthropic donations. And the ticket office isn’t what it was a few years ago. Cam was my guy and he helped a lot! It seems like that whole office has turned over.
Cougar Pride quit taking my dad’s automated donation each month so many times, he decided if they really wanted his money, they’d contact him instead of him having to call and remind them over and over.
As a member of Cougar Pride and a regular donor, I can sum up my correspondence with it like so: A form letter I get about 2x a year: “Dear member, thank you for your contribution. Please send more money.” That’s pretty much it… It is a big disappointment.
They count each account, not each ticket. So if I buy 5 tickets, that’s one account.
I understand that. But there was a massive amount of season ticket loss from that first year in the Big 12. Did one person purchase all of those season tickets?
Do we know what the number of Cougar Pride members was that year vs 3243 in Rob Dob’s post?
I wonder, does the 3243 include someone who hasn’t donated in a year or do you just stay on there indefinitely?
I suspect that one fanbase, who no longer appears on our schedule, might have.
A ton of amateur ticket brokers had accounts in 2023 and 2024 due to the Texas tickets alone, there is not a lot of meat on the bone with this schedule.
We have 8 fb tickets on one account and 6 bb tickets on same. I have 2 bb on my own account. The only reason we managed to get tickets to AAC bb tournament, and the 6 games in Indy during covid was because we grouped so many tickets into one account. Even with that # of tickets, we ended up with Bob Uecker seats.
