Current Bowl Projections for UH

JD provides a list of current bowl projections for UH. Honestly, none excite me, which is why UH needs to keep wining for a higher profile bowl.

I’d be happy enough to just go bowling at all after the last couple years.

Just get to six wins. Why should you be excited? uh has been a shitshow for a long time. Literally one of the worst teams in FBS. Hopefully better going forward. And now you worry about quality bowls? Please. People need to see something.

Reason I say this is OP thinks bowls we are projected to attend are boring. Well, you’re not getting the Fiesta Bowl this year.

If we get bowl eligible, I hope it’s vs Maryland in Phoenix. However, I’ll take any bowl

If we aren’t in a CFP bowl, it really doesn’t matter much where we go, it will be a reward for the players. I like going to the Armed Forces Bowl and the Independence bowl due to distance. Of course the Texas Bowl would be the closest.

But I am holding out for a CFP bowl as B12 champs.

I still think a lot of Coogs are sleeping on this team… we look good until we don’t… and so far we’ve looked good!

I did not read the article, but I thought I would add the selection order

1 - Alamo Bowl - San Antonio, TX (Could be both Big12 teams due to Pac12 tie in)
2 - Pop-Tarts Bowl - Orlando, FL
3 - Texas Bowl - H-Town
4 - Liberty Bowl - Memphis, TN
5 - Rate Bowl - Phoenix. AZ
6 - Independence Bowl - Shreveport, LA
7 - ESPN Pool of Games

I would have no problem going to any of them.

Looking at those bowl tie ins is reminder how lucky we are to be out of the AAC

A 7 or 8 win Cougar team from the Big 12 is going to get a good bowl bid. Our league has great tie ins.

For reference last year teams and records
1 - Alamo Bowl - BYU 10-2 (they played 9-3 Colorado as the Pac12 tie in)
2 - Pop-Tarts Bowl - ISU 10-3
3 - Texas Bowl - Baylor 8-4
4 - Liberty Bowl - Tech 8-4
5 - Rate Bowl - KSU 8-4
TCU 8-4 played in the New Mexico Bowl
WVU 6-6 played in the Frisco Bowl
and of course ASU played in the Peach

If UH wins the next two, at least it puts UH early in the conference championship conversation. But UH’s conference record will only be 2-0. Too much football for championship contender talk.

I’m enjoying being undefeated early in the season and thinking of the “what if” possibilities if UH has a strong conference record.

From the article.

Selfishly I want a bowl in Orlando or Memphis (since closer to me).

I like putting the link in to help drive clicks to UH articles. I try and do anything I can to show the Houston Chronicle that UH drives interest in Houston.

Totally agree. Just in time. A couple of recruiting classes. More focus on the game, like CWF has done.

UH beat Colorado with discipline. When’s the last time you’ve seen that? Future looks great.

I want Dallas, Memphis, or Shreveport.

Those three locations sound cold.

I’ll take any bowl, it shows we’ve made improvements.

Froze my . . . off in Shreveport a few years back. Only place close to 25 degrees was the mens room, and that was cold, cold, cold. I’ve been to high school stadiums that were better than that one. I think Jeppesen was a better stadium.
