What is with Univ Houston daily paper?
This year they are not writing as many articles about the sports teams. Years past the paper would have at least a couple articles a week about Football, Men’s Basketball, and at least one article a week about WB, W Soccer, W Volleyball team.
Not this year.

Something about the student government , there is not one so the student paper is not running either. Someone else probably knows better

Did some digging on LinkedIn and it looks like the entire staff of The Cougar’s sports section left The Cougar a couple of months ago and started their own site. There may be a story to tell as to why that happened, but that’s what’s going on.
The why is because there is no Student Government at the moment to allocate the fees to operate organizations like the Daily Cougar thus leaving the writers without an outlet to write for. Hence why they had to create their own in the interim.

The Daily Cougar is still being produced. There were payment issues to editors and there was technology problems, and game stories were not being published when needed.
Several writers and editors decided to start their publication, and they’ve put out a lot of quality work.
