Dana will continue to start Smith

In today’s press conference he said he would start the same 11 on offense today because the back ups are not ready.

If we don’t have ONE FREAKING BACKUP QUARTERBACK ready to take over if needed, what the hell has he been doing the past 5 years!

He also said they would evaluate things after practice over the next few days and make changes if warranted.

Maddox Kopp and Sofian Massoud were heir apparents but unwilling to wait their turn and transferred. This is not unique to UH.

If you don’t start for a team, you are at least considering the transfer portal.

His stubbornness and massive ego are the reason why I wrote what I wrote about the need to change QB if the QB that he has chosen to be the starter has proven to be a dud! To Holgy it is better to lose games than to admit the QB that he has chosen is the wrong QB since doing so would prove he doesn’t know how to evaluate QB, which would mean he is no QB whisperer like some people think he is!

Sof was not the heir apparent. He had offers to play other positions at big schools, but wanted to play QB. Realized that would never happen at Houston and went to South Hampton.

I stated it that way because that was his listed position at UH. Him and Kopp would have competed and I believe Kopp would have won the job.

Neither is setting the world on fire currently.

So be so sure about Maddox Kopp. He’s transferred again from CU. I don’t know where the heck he is but I’m sure 3 years later he isn’t starting.

Go to the coaches show and ask him and please ask him how in the hell Herman went like 21-4 ish in two years with a G5 team, beat OU, Fl St, Louisville, and he is 0-11 against these type teams it’s an honest question, I’m tired of the BS excuses, at least let’s be competitive

I’m telling you guys right now this is 2019/2020 on repeat. CDH stuck with a BAD Tune for 2 years and we had two bad seasons with losing records we had to sit through with all the excuses of why being everyone else’s fault but CDH.

However, regarding 2023, I don’t think CDH seems to understand that Smith is a Junior and next year will be his last year. I guess he thinks we will suck this year regardless and he can get him ready by next year to at least get us to a bowl game to save his @##. What a doofus decision. Some of y’all really still support this guy?

I will say though, he will most likely be told to get it together or you are going to be fired. If Pez and Fertitta tell him that we may run through a couple QBs but it won’t be CDH initiating the change willingly.

I’m sorry, but to think CDH is not starting the best players on the roster to win is a ridiculous take. That UH does not have capable backups is a separate discussion on the staff’s recruiting abilities.

What is this about? Lol goodness

I think he may be talking about Golden trying to turn every play into a home run. He just needs to relax and make the catch first. Not his words, but my own observation.

Dude is literally just saying anything and everything to deflect away from him. Its crazy and pathetic that our leadership is allowing it.
