Debate: Doomsday Preppers

Ya know, it’s funny.

Apparently survival bunkers are a big industry.

NOT something I’d spend money on.

To each his own, but I gotta be honest.

Doomsday preppers kind of give me a pain.

My prepping consists of meticulous film research.

The grocery stores are always fully stocked. Just be sure to carry a baseball bat.

The platinum series is nice. Like a house under your house.

I used to think the same thing about doomsday prep
I mean who wants to survive a nuclear war and decimated planet anyway
But the recent announcement that early stage quantum computing already broke RSA encryption means that in a few years all current Secuirty measures would be useless and any bad actor could take down the entire financial system as well as power grid if they are not equipped first with quantum based encryption themselves
Having an off grid bunker a cache of gold and a way to defend it might actually be smart

Old Oprah (T)(R)(U)(M)(P) quote was eye opening when you realize hes been at this for 35 years

[We enrich other countries that even their poorest live like kings compared to the US]

Also, can ghostofRTcoog unban (T)(r)ump, little excessive.

I didn’t ban it. The board owner did.

That said, I do ask that y’all not post words that have been banned. Not sure why I have to say that.

Just don’t be in Houston 30 days after an EMP. These prople will eat each other

Okay, all good in the hood.

What makes you think that will only be a problem in Houston?

What about my post makes you think I meant it was exclusively a Houston issue?

I said “Houston” because it’s a Houston message board, about Houston sports, frequented by people that either live or have lived in Houston, who will be eaten if they stay in said city.

I could have said “Houston and Farmington, NM”, which we all agree are edible cities. But that would have elicited an outcry from the what’s your feef with Farmington crowd.

Some nice properties on here…

I took it strictly from your statement and that Doomsday prepping and that article wasn’t strictly confined to Houston. Not sure why you’re so upset though. Let me ask you (or everyone) this, do you think a big city or a smaller town would be more likely to turn against their neighbors post apocalypse?

I am not sure, haven’t thought about it until now.

Gold is trading at $3500/ounce. How are you going to spend that?

i didnt know that name was banned until i tried it, just found it interesting that is a trigger and the oppoiste isnt.

staying on topic, preparing for anything more than 2 weeks, which houston should do with its yearly hurricane threat; just isn’t realistic; two weeks is rare for most areas of the world to be able to get help today, remember new orleans went thru total collapse with katrina and they didn’t lose their minds.

But then you posted it knowing it was banned. And BTW, the 46th president’s name is banned too.

yep, i sure did. i thought about it but i didnt know he was banned then or 46 was banned until just now, mine was not a political statement if the wanted to flag it; fine. i wont do it going forward.

Thank you.
