FEI is a college football rating system based on opponent-adjusted drive efficiency. Approximately 20,000 possessions are contested annually in FBS vs. FBS games. First-half clock-kills and end-of-game garbage drives and scores are filtered out. Defensive Efficiency (DE) is the value generated per drive a team’s opponent offenses adjusted for starting field position. DFEI is defensive efficiency adjusted for the strength of opponent offenses faced.
Houston ranked #25 prior to Navy game, this site updates mid week. Rating will move up I assume with Navy performance. Also ranked #23 by ESPN for Defensive Efficiency (71.0 grade out of 100…….#1 Clemson is graded 90.2) including Navy game. Highest Ranked AAC defense!!!
UH Raw Rank(DE) is # 39………its DFEI(adjusted for strength of opponent offenses faced is #25……so UH moves up 14 spots when their opponent offensive FEI is considered. We have faced the following Offenses and their OFEI (

Other AAC teams………….UCF at #9(before last weeks performance vs USF which will drop them significantly.) Their raw rank is #13….they drop 4 spots due to SOS opponent offenses. Ranked # 28 by ESPN….68.1 grade
#24 USF……….Raw Rank #8……….adjusted rank drops 16 spots…….weak SOS ……they will drop behind us when updated this week due to performance vs UCF. ESPN rank is # 36….grade 65.5
