Do you think D'Eriq King has a realistic shot at the NFL?

I put him around 5’9.5 - 5’10.

If he has a year like Kyler’s final season at OU, I think he has a shot. In fact, I believe Kyler opened the doors wide open for King.

You’re late. He absolutely will be drafted. And a lot of people are thinking first round.

By what I have seen…yes! The kid throws a Dan Marino type spiral. His height won’t matter. King’s cannon plus run ability and on field awareness can help many teams…

He is dynamic and a winner. Yes, he will get drafted. First round? Let’s hope so.

Are we in the golden age of UH QBs? Work your way backwards and it has been an amazing run at the QB position all the way to Kolb.

Lol minus the o’Korn era!

Ironically, he was hyped as the most NFL ready type QB recruit when we got him…ha

OKorn was heralded after his Freshman season…then the lack of coaching kicked in…lol.

Certainly has a shot. One thing that stands out more than his athleticism is his quick release. If he can continue to get the ball out as quick as he’s shown, NFL GMs would be stupid to pass him up. After all, the name of the game for a QB is to deliver the football quickly (check) and accurately (check), not be “big” for nothing. cough Jamarcus Russell cough

How tall is Kyler Murray 5’9 ??!

Plus, I think King is more stocky.

King is absolutely bigger than Kyler. Both in height and weight.

He is taller, bigger, and possibly faster than Kyler Murray and can throw the ball extremely well.

If he can put up amazing numbers similar to last year, this year against this tough schedule he could potentially be a 1st round draft pick… if he isn’t one already.

And O’Korn did so well under Harbaugh at Michigan. Wait…

Lol…your not wrong…lol. I am just saying he was well regarded his freshman year. OKorn was the most NFL ready QB in the draft…if you don’t believe it, ask him, he will tell you.

If King can beat Oklahoma and Washington State there will be almost no room for national pundits on his NFL hype train.

I seem to remember O’Korn and Hackenberg being big deals after Freshman year. Quite a few commentators predicted early on he’d be an NFL QB.

As a freshman with Meachum he seemed to do well. Had some deer in the headlights moments but nothing we were totally concerned about. Under Bush he regressed significantly and he just never got it back.

He could’ve been a pro with better development but he never did.

I will never discount the G5’s vs. P5’s angle. We all remember a certain CASE KEENUM. He re-wrote every possible record and was not drafted. Sure Murray and Wilson have “changed” the NFL perception of an NFL QB but both came from P5 Schools.
I have been extremely impressed by D’Eriq field “vision” His ability to read defenses is already way above many so called P5 QB’s. Having CDH as his new “mentor” is the very best thing that could happen to him. Obviously time will tell but I have no doubt that he can play at the next level. I am all hoping that we have a great season. Keep in mind that Muray’s success will play a role into D’Eriq’s future. That is how “stubborn” so many NFL G.M.'s are. I will be ecstatic for a 3rd draft.

I guess he wont be drafted by the Texans

O’Korn was the prototypical QB in every way except talent. He got hyped because of his size and because we needed a new good QB after the Piland disaster.

I was a BoB defender for a while, but he has to go! He finally has his QB and is about to run him into the ground! As long as he’s there, no one on Kirby better even think about calling King!

Question if you has to name a starter for UH who would you pick between Keenum, Ward or King?
