He is a good defensive coordinator and had some good players on defense. I think it will be closer than last year possible upset!

Fritz knows Wood’s D strategy as much as Wood knows Fritz’s O strategy.

UH has lost 11 of 12 games since 1991 and 7 in a row to Tech.

He had six guys drafted to the NFL last year on the defense.
Our chances of having success on offense have dramatically improved.

Shiel Wood was UH DC two years ago. I think the statute of limitations advantage has experied.
Much more important is each team played each other last year, and has two game films of this year to study and game plan against.
I feel better about UH’s chances this year than I did last year.

I think Shiel Wood is really good and deserves a lot of credit for Texas Tech turnaround.
IMO he is more important than Joey is

Was Shiel the DC at Tulane when Nagle was the OC?
I mean if anything that cuts both ways so no it’s not an unfair advantage.
I think so yeah.
I dont think it matters much though honestly.
Last year it was a complete mismatch up front but the gap shrunk a lot this offseason
I think those six NFL players on the defense last year had more to do with Tech’s success than either one of them coaching.
