In my mind, Mutin will always be the hero of the severely rain-delayed ECU game in 2021. Mutin forced the fumble in overtime to seal the game – even if the TV announcers gave him no credit.

Excellent linebacker, hung around the NFL for a while and now has gotten into coaching.
Maybe he’ll be DC or HC here some day.

Was that the one that started at 11am and finished sometime that night?
My recollection was that it was a 3:00 p.m. start. Prior to kickoff, we got a lightning delay. Game resumed about 9:00 p.m.
I remember people complaining on this board that UH didn’t get a prime time kickoff. Then when there was essentially a prime time kickoff, there were only about 500 people at the game. The game ended near midnight. I was among the few who got to see Mutin force the fumble in person.

What I remember about Mutin was/is a leader of men. Three year team captain. That speaks to how his teammates felt about him.
