“OU will always carry a special place,” Vesely said. “Oklahoma is in my bloodline, and being part of that championship program you can’t ever get rid of that, nor do you want to. But it would be fantastic to leave my mark at Houston.”
In her first head-coaching job, Vesely said there’s a “blank canvas to build our own legacy.” While she undoubtedly would like to paint it red, a touch of dirt would be fitting for the hardworking style she learned from Hall of Fame OU coach Patty Gasso and Lombardi.
