Somebody is giving KPRC’s Randy McIvoy bad information. He was saying GP was a name to watch a couple of days ago.

I think Traylor is probably in the driver’s seat, but he also has no leverage right now to rush this process. I think UH still weighs out all options.
Put it this way, Traylor can’t take the Aggie job. There is no other job in the region, and teams outside the SEC/B12 won’t even look in Traylor’s direction.
Traylor has to take the UH job if offered because if he stays at UTSA and doesn’t do well next season, he can kiss any P5 opportunity goodbye.
He has to take an offer while he’s HOT. UH is available.

or he can sit this round out and wait for Baylor to open after next season or even SmU potentially

He definitely could wait if he wanted to, but if he ends up 8-5 then i don’t think his value remains the same.
The AAC will look different next year.

I only saw McIvoy mention Fritz as strong candidate. They are very good friends. As many know McIvoy as Director of Ch 2 Sports Dept hired Lanie Fritz when graduated from SAM. He’s also SHSU Alum n former Student/Athlete- Baseball.
Edit: n just so i don’t get called out on it but it has Zero importance on what we’re talking abt, but I thk Lanie went to work for station in SC or NC before McIvoy hired her at NBC - Houston Ch 2.

he tells me that Bellichick is the name to watch today, and Saban is the name to watch tomorrow

I concur w this Post. But i don’t think Tulane has put all their chips in yet to counter. It gets messy w such an important gm in front of them Saturday.
If he’s interested in moving, I don’t they will be able to compete. It means he wants something different.
They can find a way to compete with salary but that’s it. This move won’t be about money (not that he won’t take market rate!). JMO
