Ed Oliver-- Consensus All-American?

If Ed keeps garnering 1st team AA honors, he becomes part of very select company at UH. Here they are–

1952 J. D. Kimmel, DT-- 1st team AP and Chicago Tribune; About as close as you can get to consensus back then.

1967 Rich Stotter, G-- Consensus All-American

1969 Bill Bridges, G-- Consensus All-American

1970 Elmo Wright WR-- Consensus All-American

1976 Wilson Whitley DT-- Consensus All-American

1980 Leonard Mitchell DT-- Consensus All-American

1988 Jason Phillips WR-- Consensus All-American

1989 Andre Ware QB-- Consensus All-American

And each one made it as a Senior-- Not as a Freshman.

Too bad the Lombardi Trophy abandoned its roots of honoring the OL/DL/LBs. Would be awesome for Ed to win that one.

I doubt he gets consensus AA. One of the 5 is going to exclude him for the guy from Tennessee.
