Elon Musk Says X Growth Is ‘Stagnant,’ Revenue Is ‘Unimpressive’ in Leaked

I wish someone would create a social media website where politics is completely banned

It should only be about sports and pop culture

I think that’s what the owner wants here.

And it seems to be that except, for a few exceptions that mods usually address.

If only there was an ignore button for topics

I didn’t think this article was particularly political. Especially when posting without comment.

However what does everyone else think? Was this a political post? @3rdWardCoog thinks so.

What do you guys think?

This is an economic article not political imo…

Also, this is the growth engine of x corp and not social media imo… About xAI

My personal opinion is no, it’s not political.

OTOH, I can see how it could be interpreted as political by some.
It really is in the eye of the beholder.

  1. The person the article is about has an office in the “ Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House complex.”
  2. The person played a prominent role using using his company megaphone to influence and control the narrative on his platform.
  3. The person make substantial political donations to a campaign, appeared on the campaign trail, and works in the unofficial DOGE.
  4. The article does include the banned site words.
  5. The person is VERY prominent in politics and Business.

It all depends on the individual; almost everything has some degree of politics to it. Even sports, if it involves discussing people with XYX chromosomes or intersex
characteristics at birth.

Glad I don’t have to moderate here per the owners directives. It’s a fuzzy line.

That’s impressive; Skynet v0.1 has been born!

The 50 to 150 MW power consumption is impressive too, in a negative way.

Yeah… between AI, cloud computing and crypto we’re consuming insane amounts of energy.

i appreciate most Coogfans keeping it real on both sides /mybadbacktothethread

No lol I was referring to a social media website like X

I wasnt complaining about your thread

Right.

So I guess it’s a good thing Musk is acknowledging internally that X is not killing it and in a bad spot. As a business to make money. Of course he knew his internal e-mail would become public knowledge. Guess it’s still wait and see how he is going to turn X into the most valuable company ever. What will he do next with it , feature wise?

I see.
I totally miss interpreted what your point was there.

If you say so, I will take your word for it. Just seemed more like you were doing some passive aggressive complaining.

Let me ask you this, do you consider sites like Coogfans (message boards) to be social media? Why or why not?

(I hadn’t thought about this before so I don’t know my answer)

I may be in the minority, but I certainly consider message boards as social media.

You interact with people, you post things and read others postings. You can come here to get flagged, flogged, or banned !

I’d be hard pressed to say why it isn’t a form of social media ?

…it seems to check most all the boxes…

Social media refers to online platforms and applications that allow people to connect, share information, ideas, and content with others, creating online communities where users can interact and engage with each other through various forms of digital communication like posting text, photos, and videos; popular examples include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Key points about social media:

  • Function: Enables users to create profiles, connect with friends and family, follow others, share updates, and participate in discussions.

  • Content types: Can include text posts, images, videos, live streams, stories, and more.

  • Accessibility: Accessed through various devices like computers, smartphones, and tablets.

  • Examples of social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, WhatsApp.

Since message boards predated the term “social media” I just think it is easy to consider them a different category.

Some background.

The term “social media” was first used in 1994 by Darrell Berry while he was developing the online media environment Matisse. Berry wrote a paper in 1995 about “social media spaces”.

The term “message board” was first used in 1795. However, the term was first recorded in the context of an internet discussion forum between 1990 and 1995.

And the paper that coined the phrase .

I’m being completely truthful

In fact, twitter before 2016 was in fact very culturally-driven, where politics was hardly a nuisance at all because it was hardly present

It was once a place where people connected with each other but also where celebrities and athletes interacted with their fans. There were hardly any politicians that used it prior to 2016

As far as Coogfans being a social media website. No I don’t think it is. I think Coogfans is a message board/forum.

Social media: Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok

Message Board/Forum: CoogFans, Rivals, 24/7Sports, Reddit
