The definition of “political” shouldn’t be ‘someone on the board don’t like it’.
More Tesla trouble for Musk…
German trade group reports 60% year-on-year fall in Tesla registrations

The auto industry is very volume sensitive. Once they do the profits can be massive for additional sales. It goes the other way too. If they don’t sell enough losses can be massive.
Tesla is screwed
Is that wishful thinking on your part?
I don’t think anyone here wishes for Tesla to tank but it is notable that they are losing market share. They could still rebound, only time will tell.
Is that an attempt at a joke Dustin?
“I don’t think anyone here wishes for Tesla to tank”
Losing market share?
To what?
Directly from the article:
RAV4 and Camry…are these EV’s?
All or most automakers have reduced their EV’s production because of weak demand. Tesla only makes EV’s.
There is EV market share and there overall car market share. He’s competing for both.
RAV4 and Camry are both available as Hybrids. Those certainly compete with full EV, even if you don’t consider them to be an EV as hyrbrids.
So demand for EVs is softening, and you think that is a positive for Tesla?
Hybrids are not EV’s. I never wrote it was positive for Tesla. To single out Tesla was the message. Tesla only produces EV’s. Therefore it is going to be more noticeable. Tesla with his Model II will be a major test.
I started a whole thread about how good EVs are for the economy. But yeah I somehow want the leader to fail.
I disagree when we are talking market share. They occupy the same space, in my opinion.
I refer you back to my previous post.
That is the entire point Dustin. For Musk to say it pointless and then introduce one is a game changer.
Yet he hasn’t introduced one and there is no deadline of when he will. I also would disagree, he’s talked about it for years only now to say it is pointless? If I invested, that wouldn’t fill me with confidence, though it seems to for you.
We might disagree but IMO Musk has to come out with the Model II soon. That is the only price point that Tesla does not cover. Time will tell.
And if he doesn’t come out with it soon, it could have a major negative effect on Tesla’s financial performance and stock price.
It could but Tesla has ways of enticing customers with different price structures that they have today. Time will tell.
Lowering the price without lowering the cost of the product just lowers profitability. Although it can boost sales, absolutely a valid strategy but no guarantee that it would be a winning strategy.
IMO a Tesla Model II in the $25k range with…a 400 miles range is a game changer.
If/when it comes out…
