Why is the OL worse?

From what I can tell there were 0 seniors on our oline

And will CB/safety really be worse with all the injuries we had and the guys who did play this year getting all that experience

Because our LT is going to be NFL bound, most likely.

Safety. We lose Owens and Mwaniki.

CB. We lose our best corner, Art Green.

This is just on paper. Games aren’t played on paper. We could be better at every position next year. Up to the players and coaches. But on paper, we’re worse across the board. Other than RB and WR.

It was already talked about in the preseason. And he had a good year. And measurables you can’t teach. His brother was also drafted last season. Patrick Paul is a lot better than his brother. And he knows it.

I’d imagine that a year as a blocker against P5 pass rushes and another year of weight training would improve his draft stock.

Maybe, but in my opinion, it would be a big mistake. He needs more experience and consistency against better competition. Paul has good upside.

There isn’t a single person on the roster with the exception of McCaskill that can’t be replaced. This team just went 7-5. It’s quite possible a new coach could bring in a slew of transfers from the portal to make the team even better. IF, and a big IF, UH goes in another direction, the decision shouldn’t be based on fear of players leaving the program. Just my two cents.

While it’s clear that the program took a step or 2 back this year, every season is different. We may end up surprising a lot of people next year.
