Ah. I read that as a proposal (“this” being the idea he describes, not the Corso’s).

Uh, we already have divisions.
Vandy is just as much of a “Major League team” as Bama is so this argument has no merit.
While I deeply detest the P5 - G5 garbage, there is an overall talent
difference between the designations. Does not mean a G5 cannot rise up
and beat a good P5 on any given Saturday, but it is the exception. Just look
at the number of players that make it in the NFL. It’s 90% or better come from
the P5. Cincy may be that exception this year that is 1st to ever get into the CF invitational.
Of course if Coogs take care of business next week, that chance will immediately evaporate.

College football is way too aristocratic to consider relegation.
Which says something that actual aristocracies in the world have soccer leagues that do relegation.
The P5 conferences are better because of the preferences the system gives them, which the system gives them because they’re better, which they’re better because of the preferences the system gives them, and on and on.
The scope P5-G5 divide is a product of the P5-G5 divide.
There is a divide in basketball, as well, but since there is less systemic preference it’s much more fluid and has more elements of merit.
So what?
We have FBS Div I and the others.
All FBS Div I ought to have a chance to win the big salad bowl not just cartel members.
You do not agree?
Lets have the Feds do an audit to all P5 schools and make sure than none of the Federal aid money given to them is going to to their sports departments.
I’ve been behind that notion for years as well…
Corso needs to go, the man is literally soiling his diapers and spitting all over himself on TV. He has no clue anymore.
