H-town blue nominated for best in show… as they should be.
Oldies about to have heart attacks.
Note that 2 of the Best in Show uniforms were retro.
I will never, ever understand why the other UH went away from the rainbow color scheme. It’s so good, and so distinctly theirs that literally nobody else could even realistically attempt it. I think it could stand some modernization — their WBB team has worn an updated script version of the logo that looks amazing — but it should be their full-time look no matter how they decide to do it.
I am an oldie (66 years old), and I really like the blue. I am in favor of any uniform that catches the imagination of the fans and puts money in the bank by selling merchandise.
I have a lot of red in my closet, the blue next to it looks good.
The reason I support Houston Blue is not the sentimental value of remembering the Houston Oilers or that it represents the City of Houston color. The reason I support it is because UH fans like it and buy merch in that color, which is revenue for the Athletic Department. Any objection I may have is overridden by the financial benefit to the university.
Let me know when Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, etc…… entertain temporary uniforms !!!
Michigan is literally in the linked article for rolling out a clunker.
…so we’ve let you know on 3 of those 4. You may have to pivot to usc, ut, and penn st?
Superlative?? Ha ha…You would be hard pressed to find more ugly uniforms than most of those. Houston and Oregon had the only 2 respectable uniforms in the whole group.
Yeah, we want to be different, just like every body else . . . . .
If UH ignores areas that can increase athletic revenue, then UH needs a new Athletic Director. I think UH can freshen its uni design using scarlet red and albino white as the base colors. I am a fan of the navy blue outline.
Texas A&M, Ohio St., Michigan, and Oklahoma have alternative unis. Heck, Oklahoma wore their alternative unis last year against UH.
Gotta roll with the times. Either increase athletic revenue or drop behind and become a conference cellar-dweller.
