Every K/W UH quarterback has had an improbable comeback win

Here’s another coincidence in UH lore

In 1988, Andre Ware led the Coogs to a last second comeback win over Texas Tech in the snow to win 30-29

Fun fact, this eliminated Texas Tech bowl game contention too.

In 1990 David Klingler led a 95 yard game winning drive over Texas A&M in order to get a 36-31 win.

In 2006, Kevin Kolb led the Coogs on a 16 point comeback to beat Rice 31-30 to keep the Bayou Bucket on Cullen.

In 2009, down 45-37 with less than 4 minutes to go, Case Keenum lead the Coogs to a 46-45 comeback win over Tulsa.

In 2011, Case Keenum led the Coogs on a 28 point comeback to beat Louisiana Tech 35-34.

In the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl, Greg Ward Jr led the Coogs on a 22 point comeback to beat Pittsburgh 35-34.

In 2017, with under 2 minutes to go D’Eriq King led the Coogs on a 49 yard drive to beat 7-0 South Florida 28-24 after trailing most of the game.

And of course in 2025, Conner Weigman led the Coogs on a 14 point comeback to beat Oregon State in OT.

Those were great comebacks but I don’t know how much stock to put into superstitious coincidences of beginning letters of last names. There were 10 other players on those offenses not to mention defense and special teams.

Nice quirk tho!

It’s definitely an odd coincidence
