Oh I know the history, and they aren’t our friends. But neither Texas or the media made crappy hire after crappy hire and drug almost an entire potential generation of fans outback and summarily executed any interest in the school athletic programs/the school itself they would ever have. That was Houston doing it do itself.
Nor are they responsible for the University of Houston lacking a truly strategic vision for the school and the future in my lifetime before Khator. Listen, if we had done everything right and were still where we are I’d be more inclined to believe in a conspiracy. But as it stands we’ve done far more damage to ourselves than Texas and the media.

You know another way they hurt some fan interest, not selling merchandise of one school over another.
Yeah, I know the “supply and demand” thing, but there was a time when I searched for UH gear (pre-internet) and couldn’t find any. Mind was made up to go to UH regardless. Always felt Aggies and Texas was forced on the masses.

We’ve been out of a power conference longer than we were in the SWC and multiple expansions have happened since then.
The big East was a lifeline attached to a sinking ship so the odds of us getting back into a true power conference get dimmer every year.

I’m 73 and have had two heart attacks. My mom and dad made it to 75 and 80 respectively. But, I think I should be able to make it another 20 to 25 years since I have the strength of ten because my heart is pure. 
Regardless, I am happy with the AAC.
