Football has a bye week and gets ranked 24 and 25. Basketball wins and we will drop to 2 or 3?
No.
What?
We aren’t dropping lol. We beat a ranked team in front of 18k’ of their fans.
He’s asking if the MBB will drop down to 2 or 3.
Purdue beat #8 Alabama. #3 UCONN beat #7 BYU. We beat # 22 Auburn. We only had 3 more AP voter pts than Purdue, so it’s possible they leap us in this week’s vote. We are 100 pts over UCONN, so I think they stay #3 by a few pts.
we might drop to 2 but why would UConn jump us when their game was a pseudo home game and they also got took down the wire lol
We just won in front of 17,000 Auburn fans, why would we drop?
This was a road game. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.
This is a perfect example of a poster Coogin’ it.
That’s fair and honestly, I couldn’t care less. It means literally nothing at this point. They probably pick up a few more votes to pass us again with that win. I think they already had more first place votes than us but we passed them from voters who had Florida second and then first and those voters dropped Florida so we moved up.
I think a few years ago when we were trying to prove we belonged, it meant more. Now, it’s all about March
I think at most we drop back to 2 since the margin with Purdue was insanely close and they notched a really nice win @Bama. We’re not dropping any lower than that though.
Was about to say business as usual but then the Cincy score actually registered. Wth is going on with them?
Definitely, I don’t see UCONN passing us
They should have fired their coach a couple of years back….ive seen him get out coached many a game….always slow to make adjustments.
He has had a a couple of teams with enough talent to make the tournament.
Between Auburn and the Coogs, it does not matter where you play, every game against them is a road game except maybe Fertita center but even there I have my doubts. I was in the Toyota center last year and stunned by the presence of their fans and absence of ours.
I could see UConn taking some of Purdue’s votes, honestly. And we’ll get more 1st place votes from beating a ranked team on the road.
But if not, eh…
You folks are too much worried about a useless #1 ranking at this time of the year. Just saying.
Semi-agree. We want a #1 seed and this goes a long way towards that.
