That surprises me being from a Houston area district. I played in a really competitive district and we had probably 4 pitchers that I remember that threw in the 90s (3 on one team) and a few others that were in the 87-89 range. Funny thing is none of those guys threw for the eventual district champion.
Congrats for your son!!!
Good luck the rest of the way!
Guys lie about velo all the time.
Unless you saw the gun be skeptical.
Yeah, I get that but these guys were legit pitchers. The four that threw in the 90s pitched at the D1 level and so did one of the upper 80s guys.
I may add on to that number tomorrow. Memorial has some kids that can bring it I hear.
Good luck in the series.
I hear Katy has a sophomore lefty that can really throw it. Did you guys face him this year?
We always had at least 2 every year that pitched in the 90s. One kid hit 110 on the gun throwing from the outfield. He ended up on the Astros. In our district if you throw 83 on varsity you will get rocked. You might see 83 in Pasadena ISD.

Make that 5 and 4 from the same team. I thought they had a 4th guy but I couldn’t remember who it was. Of course the guy I forgot threw 14 years in the big leagues.
Yes we did. Top 10 in Texas for 2028’s. He pitched well. Good player for sure. He pitched one of the games, the UH commit the other.
