Florida State beats Bama by 2 TD’s. I have to wonder, is Florida State spending NIL $$ like our friends at Texas Tech?
From what I’ve found, 12 mil for football with 800k to the qb.
Not the same bama
Yep
Debeor is not the guy the for job, but I think people don’t understand how truly great a coach Saban was, easily the greatest of all time
Now would Saban still be Saban in the NIL era? Who knows
After Bama takes 4 Ls this year, this win won’t look like such a big deal…
Go Coogs
So far, the ACC is looking like it’s winning week 1 ![]()
You think maybe FSU and Clemson are auditioning for the SEC?
Yeah, I don’t think they will be getting Alabama’s vote.
Too bad Baylor couldn’t do their part vs Auburn.
idk - but Georgia Tech beating Colorado at Colorado was also a big win for them (the ACC).
You don’t want to be the guy that follows a legend, you want to be the guy that followed the guy that followed a legend. The bar is set extremely high. DeBoer will wish he stayed at Washington.
As for Brian Kelley, I never liked him and when LSU hired him, I thought they made a bad pick.
You hit it, Mike. I don’t know how many times we have to see it… Everyone thinks they can buck history, very few can…
And, for what it’s worth, I agree with you on both counts… I like DeBoer, dude just didnt understand what he was walking into to. Brian Kelly is garbage. He’s always been an a$$, and you’d have to work to find someone who is a worse fit in Louisiana than that guy.
Saban was a micro-manager, and a good one. It’s hard to go from that mindset to a more traditional executive approach with the same intensity.
He is following a legend plus coaching at a school that always has goofy expectations.
They wanted Keisean Henderson so bad… And after Friday’s game i bet that ![]()

has gone up.
Plus i’m pretty sure he’s not going anywhere. No city to live in and play football like Houston.
Malzan has a lot to do with this.
That was a team that was determined to let everyone know that last year’s 2-10 record was strictly a fluke. The old FSU is back. Should be fun in ACC.
FSU’s qb looked like a carbon copy of Greg Ward and Malzan’s offense was dynamic
No doubt. Hiring the right OC makes a big difference in W’s and L’s. We’ll see how Nagle
does at UH, but I’m jealous of teams running a high octane offense, and it certainly doesn’t hurt in terms of fan excitement.
Ultimately I just want to win, but when we see a team like SMU competing for the ACC title in year one, I question why we abandoned this type of coaching scheme.
Malzahn has a hatred for Alabama going back to his Auburn days.
