Like clockwork. Football fans, who don’t know basketball show up when football is over. Thanks to CWF offensive coordinator hire, season is over before the actual season is over.
Fritz will never ever ever take us to the heights Sampson has taken this basketball team. Y’all being mad that football sucks and trying to ruin the fun of this basketball team isn’t productive. Go stew on the football board about how bad football team is and leave us to our TOP 10 Basketball team.
I have season tickets to both football and basketball so I will give both of these old grandpas the same treatment.
Back to the criticism of CKS, this old geezer has been here 10+ years and every season we go through multiple games of stagnant offenses, missed FTs, and the team looking lost when the best players foul out.
If CKS didn’t spend time simulating game play with your best players being out of the game, then it shows that we will be unprepared when it actually happens.
He also has us in the top 10. Wins conference championships. Not only makes the tournament but is a top 4 seed. OHHHHHHH and he recruits GREAT kids who never get in trouble and are absolutely great ambassadors of our school.
What exactly do you want, and who is the person who can do it?
Sampson is a fantastic coach but the natty has eluded him. There are many reasons folks can point to as to why but it doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate him as a great coach or want him gone. We want him to win a natty at UH and criticisms generally come from a place of fandom, not malice. Stop taking it personally. It is unbecoming.
Exactly! No one is arguing Sampson should be fired not even close. At least the fans that are thinking rationally.
But at the same time we should be allowed to question the problems we observe, and make opinions about them even if other fans don’t agree. I’ve only ever questioned Sampson’s ability to put together a championship offense and make everything click in the tournament. But I would never question his ability to coach defense, recruit, or overall regular season success as a coach. He even has had great success in the tournament, just not as much as I would like.
At the end of the day though Sampson has to improve the offensive efficiency of the team. If he isn’t able to do that it’s unlikely he wins a championship at UH. And he very well could go down as a great regular season coach that couldn’t get over the hump.
And funny enough I would be ok with that because at the very least it sets up the program to be ready for the next coach, and ensure that coach is successful too.
I don’t know. Sounds like a few people want Sampson gone.
Here’s the real truth; we are so beyond lucky to have him. We didn’t put 5,000 of our own fans in Toyota Center for a top 15 matchup a few days ago and people are demanding national championships.
