Dang, no more coughing up and snorting and complaining. Why didn’t we hire him from Sam. Geez
Willie definitely gives off Kelvin vibes when talking to the students and alum.
Let’s see if you can win a damn football game, but man he’s doing a great job so far.
Found your first post here. Good job
They are Brothers in University of Houston culture !
Go Coogs !

That’s dang funny
Hard for Dana to engage fans in a bar
Ummm… not in my experience…
…and everyone at UH is better for it!
What bar?
All of em but he apparently liked Steak48 in particular
I just meant it’s never hard to engage fans in a bar…
It’s engaging with them OUTSIDE of bars that is the hard part… lol
I have some friends in Missouri that are/were friends with the Fritz’s when they were at Central Missouri. They told me long ago that Houston should get Willie. Not taking their word for it, I checked him out and have been telling friends for over a decade that we should get him as Head Coach. Glad they were right.
Can we desist from “Neon Moon Boy”? Let’s move on.
I wanted Fritz 10 years ago, but UH had to trip over its feet first
The first thing I thought of reading Coach Fritz’s comments is we would never hear those comments from his predecessor. On the contrary, he “couldn’t coach this XXXX anymore” and he hated recruiting.
If this is a conversation about Spring games then I’d say if anyone out there is listening this is what the program really needs to build on the momentum heading into next year.
Have it at TDECU stadium. Make it a real game and actually make it a big event. Starting offense on one team, the starting defense on the other. Coming off of the best season in years, lots of excellent portal adds, and a full first hand look at Keisean Henderson playing his first snaps as a Houston Cougar playing with the 2nd string offense. Use the event to encourage fans to lock in their tickets for the fall.
Matt,
I think the common concern is injury . Coach Fritz always says they have to be careful . I personally do not want to start 2026 with injured first team players. Go Coogs !
