The money has to come from somewhere and has to go somewhere. You can’t just void obligatory fees.

The SEC is believed to be a less likely option for Florida State, Clemson or Miami — the three most desirable football properties (and this is about football mostly). The league is set to begin as a 16-team operation next season existing in contiguous states. It is already powerful. It is already rich. It has now taken over large swaths of Texas.
The SEC’s goal is to play a level of football that appeals to a national audience. It also already has schools in Florida and South Carolina.
“My sense is there is more opposition than interest,” one SEC source said.

Big 12 is a majority ESPN property but they do share content with FOX

Not surprised. I bet it is probably due to ESPN’s and the SECs belief that any lawsuit filed will include them.
There’s what they “expect” to make and what they actually will make. I expect the cougars to get $100M in the next contract because we’re that good. Doesn’t mean we’re going to get it.
It will be interesting to see what FSU does. A$M didn’t have the cache to tell the SEC to vote no on the whorns. UF might have that cache when it comes to FSU.

I can’t see the SEC schools inviting FSU or Clemson just to help them make as much money as you.
If I was an SEC school, I want to keep my financial competitive edge over my competition.

Florida State is much more valuable than UH will ever be for the foreseeable future purely from an athletics standpoint
